Glassmaker, designer, artist, businessman * 1982 in Innsbruck (AT)
After attending the glass school in Kramsach (Tyrol, AT), Robert Comploj traveled through Europe and North America for ten years, taking part in courses and master classes. In Corning (NY), glass masters from Murano in particular gave him an artistic feel. Since his stay in Denmark, he has combined Venetian tradition with Scandinavian-looking design. Robert Comploj experiments with shapes, structures and colors and combines traditional with modern techniques.
Since 2013 he has been running his own studio glassworks together with a small team, first in Traun, and since 2017 in Vienna. The Comploj glassworks is a production facility and workshop, gallery, course location and sales room at the same time. Robert Comploj exports his work all over the world, presents it at exhibitions and accepts national and international teaching assignments, for example in Kramsach, Linz or Corning.
